Hoopes was appointed President of VOX Global Mandate when it merged with his firm Hoopes Strategies, LLC in March of 2007. VOX focuses on providing bi-partisan advocacy and communications counsel to clients who are looking for partners who appreciate their business objectives and the way political advocacy can promote and protect their business interests
Hoopes has attended both the Republican and Democratic Conventions since 1992. He also provides political commentary for Fox News, NPR, MSNBC, News Channel 8, Fox, BBC World News Radio and Television, and the Armstrong William’s Show.
Hoopes has been active in electoral politics for over 20 years, getting his start in national campaigns in 1987 when he worked for Senator Biden in New Hampshire on his run for President. He later joined the Senator in Washington where he worked during the first Gulf War and Supreme Court nominations. Hoopes went on to work for Senators Chris Dodd and Alan Dixon. He also ran the state public affairs/grassroots program for the Independent Insurance Agents of America and MCI.
Hoopes is an expert at running fully integrated and bi-partisan advocacy campaigns and coordinating and leveraging all aspects of advocacy including media outreach, grassroots lobbying, paid media, lobbying and on-line advocacy.
He has been an Adjunct Professor at the George Washington University’s Graduate School of Politics since 1999 and is an Overseer at Colby College.
Hoopes earned his BA in Government from Colby College and a Master’s Degree in Legislative Affairs from the George Washington University.
Hoopes lives in Bethesda, MD with his wife Hilary, and nine-year-old twins Penelope and Riter and their five-year-old daughter Charlotte. |
