Prior to joining the VOX team in Washington, Heighington most recently worked in the Toronto office of Fleishman-Hillard where she worked on executive awareness programs, proxy solicitations, and corporate communications initiatives for a variety of clients within the financial and investor communications practice group.

In May 2007, Heighington led the organization and logistics for one of the largest foreign industrial investment announcements in United States history. In addition, her client work has included providing communications counsel to clients in the mortgage insurance industry and one of the world’s leading providers of financial services to institutional investors.

Heighington also worked with the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care to conduct stakeholder consultation initiatives across the province of Ontario. In addition, she was responsible for conducting on-site event management, media relations, strategic analysis, and research for other ministries including the Ministry of Training Colleges & Universities and the Ministry of Energy.

Ms. Heighington holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Queen’s University as well as a post-graduate certificate in public relations from Humber College. 

Originally from Toronto, Ontario she now resides in Arlington, Virginia.
