Corney works primarily for AT&T directing public affairs activities in Tennessee.

Corney’s career began as an unpaid intern for the Tennessee Democratic Party in the late 1980’s before joining the staff of Senator Al Gore, eventually serving as Deputy Director of Advance in the Vice President’s office.  Corney has extensive campaign experience at the local, state and national level and is most noted for his management of statewide democratic coordinated campaigns.  In addition to his campaign experience and public service, Corney founded his own public relations firm in Tennessee working with a broad group of clients ranging from publicly traded corporations to small non-profit agencies. 

Before joining VOX, Corney helped Tennessee Governor Phil Bredesen shape and communicate an aggressive public policy agenda that helped Governor Bredesen fundamentally change Tennessee state government to make it leaner, more effective, more rational and more responsive to the taxpayers - leading to Governor Bredesen’s re-election in 2006 by an historic margin and his position as one of the most effective and popular Governors in America.
